Assessment Coordinator

Description

We seek an Assessment Coordinator who is committed to providing excellence and who has a professional passion to complement our current team.

The Assessment Coordinator will provide service by:

• Answers phone, offering free assessments to caller, with no client obligations.
• Registers patients for inpatient and outpatient services according to policy and procedures established by the hospital. This includes insurance verification, summarization of identified benefits, estimation of patient out-of-pocket responsibility, collection of patient payment and the input of all admission data into the Medik system.
• Responsible for keeping necessary supplies well stocked by inventorying and ordering in appropriate manner.
• Assures that all Xerox copying projects are accomplished.
• Ensures accurate completion of all forms.
• Assists in establishing bed availability.
• Accurate logging and filing of inquiry sheets, assessments and cobra log book and other data pertinent to assessment office, according to policy and procedure of the A&R Department.
• Computer data entry of patient information and statistical data.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be available to work evening schedule
• Kean observational awareness
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Motivational influence geared to the individual patient’s needs
• Able to keep to a prescribed schedule and influence compliance
• Proactively demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate with those involved in the assessment, providing direct patient care.
• Preferred experience with financial counseling or verification of benefits.
