What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Manager, Paid Search position at Strategic Education, Inc.?
The Paid Search Manager will lead a multi-channel media team with PPC/SEM execution, analysis and strategy. The position will report directly to the Senior Manager of Media Investments and collaborate with other teams across the marketing organization, such as Marketing Insights & Analytics, Marketing Operations, Digital Experiences, Brand & Product Portfolio Marketing, and CRM.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing forecasts, allocating, and managing multi-million dollar budgets
- Manages relationships with SEM vendors and partners; leads weekly calls and assigns tasks
- Works closely with Sr. Manager to develop strategy and roadmap for channel; oversees implementation and execution of key initiatives
- Leads Paid Search Specialist, Associate Manager and/or Intern in day-to-day responsibilities and executional accuracy; schedules statuses and delegates tasks
- Presents quarterly updates on key initiatives and performance to stakeholders and executives
- Collaborates with Digital Experiences team on landing page optimization, direction, and testing that ladders up to paid search best practices
- Coordinates onboarding and training for new team members
- Stays up-to-date and informs relevant stakeholders of competitive and industry trends
- Accountable for oversight of paid search bid-management tool
- Manages campaign audits and optimizations to improve click-through and conversion rates, including keyword, ad copy, extension, bidding
- Directs the creation, maintenance, and automation of reports and analytics regarding SEM efforts
- Develops and supervises tests to determine best creative copy, landing experience, and bidding strategies to maximize click-through and conversion
- Guides campaign strategy and management, including new campaign builds, restructures, bid adjustments, budget changes, and ad copywriting ensuring industry and brand compliance
- Partners with Media Strategy to ensure alignment on key objectives, strategies, and timing
- Works with the IT team to improve lead tracking and reporting process
Educational or Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3-4 years’ experience primarily focused on direct response/acquisition focused digital media buying and planning
- Certification or experience with search bid management platforms, particularly Kenshoo, is highly preferred
- Proficient user of Google Ads and Bing Ads UI & Editor tools required Advanced Excel user
