SSU is recruiting a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) to support the Command’s Joint National Training
Capability EXEVAL for 5th POB (A). In this role, the PAO will collaborate with other Role Players to craft realistic scenarios for training and evaluating Soldiers preparing for upcoming deployments aligned with
U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) objectives. The successful coordination of synchronization meetings, rehearsals, exercise execution, and After Action Reviews (AARs) will be crucial for the seamless facilitation of all exercise objectives. Public Affairs Officer
- At least 24 months prior experiences served as a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) as a member of the
- Department of State (DoS) assigned to a U.S. Embassy within the INDOPACOM AOR for the
- purpose of managing information related to the U.S. Mission.in their respective country.
- Deep academic understanding of or operational experience in the INDOPACOM Area of
- Responsibility (AOR).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage in theatrical performance during military training sessions, contributing to the creation of realistic scenarios that simulate deployment situations.
- Skillfully assume a fictional persona assigned by the unit, maintaining consistent character portrayal throughout training exercises without breaking role.
- Collaborate with the Exercise Control Group (ECG) to receive detailed instructions regarding scenario rehearsals and training schedules.
- Interact with the training audience through immersive scenarios, aiming to inform, educate, and mentor.
- Replicate various physical actions, including jumping, running, crouching, bending, reaching, handling lightweight props, lying on the ground, kneeling, and transitioning from a kneeling position to standing.
