What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Planner position at Straumann?
Your Role:
In the Supply Chain Planner role, you will have direct impact on our customer experience and business results. You will support improvements in our forecasting and planning processes, which ultimately drive on time / in full order fulfillment.
As a supply chain planner, you will be responsible for forecasting and planning activities for key brands in the Straumann North America portfolio. This role will report to the Supply Chain Planner. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Gathering data from a variety of internal and external sources as inputs for the forecasting process, such as growth factors, new product introductions, substitutions, phase-outs, promotions, historical sales trends, market trends
- Developing a rolling 24-month SKU level forecast based on the inputs collected
- Determining appropriate inventory levels, reviewing, and updating MRP settings to ensure they are appropriate to support the forecast levels
- Actively participate in the enhancement and improvement of both Anaplan and Business Intelligence systems, offering solutions for increased analytics and functionality.
- Working with supply chain functions across various segments and regions to innovate and collaborate on global planning best practices
- Managing the S&OP process for key North America brands and segments, leading collaboration and consensus planning activities with Product Management, Sales and Finance
- Working with internal and external vendors to determine feasibility of plan, and adjusting plan accordingly
- Enabling business management to make informed, data-based decisions by providing business analyses and analytical support, particularly in areas where data is difficult to access/unreliable and where a high level of analytical skill is required.
- Carrying out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned, in an effective manner.
- Driving continuous improvement in forecasting process and methodology, and conducting “lessons-learned” to optimize the overall process
- Measuring and driving improvements in key supply chain metrics, such as forecast accuracy and on time-in full fulfillment
- This role can be remote/hybrid
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related analytical field
- 1 year of Supply Chain experience in logistics, demand planning and supply planning
- 1 years of Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems
- 3 years of experience working with Excel and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with demand planning AI/ML software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable partnering with leadership and executive teams
- Ability to think “outside the box” in a fast paced, growth environment with sense of urgency
- Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working with large datasets
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI
- APICS Certification
