We are seeking a candidate to lead the two-person Network Engineering team, which is part of the larger Technology Infrastructure Team of approximately 19 professionals. The Infrastructure Team is responsible for all design, implementation, and support of infrastructure at the firm 24x7x365. This position is based out of the Stamford, CT office.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience managing network engineering functionality and personnel who is expert in all aspects of network management and design for a medium-sized firm. Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto equipment required, including Nexus and Catalyst switches, Cisco routers, CUCM and Palo Alto firewalls. Fluent in networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, HSRP, and support of market data DMZ connectivity. Strong experience with QoS, F5 load balancers, SD-WAN, VXLAN and WAN optimization. The candidate will be responsible for WAN links across locations using point-to-point circuits, MPLS or VPN’s. Experience with cloud fundamentals and connectivity preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting network segmentation and network access control solutions as part of a zero-trust approach. The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience monitoring network, server and video conference devices, and experience with NetFlow, NBAR and other similar technologies.
The Lead Network Engineer will be responsible for:
• Leading the Network Engineering team, which includes a single direct report.
• Deploying, configuring, maintaining, and systematically monitoring all network peripherals.
• Maintaining documentation detailing configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and business continuity procedures for associated devices.
• Producing metrics that measure and trend network capacity and utility.
• Logging and alerting facilities designed to accomplish corporate information security and technology goals.
• Researching new technologies to advance the infrastructure.
• Continuously improving internal technology process and end-user experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 8 years previous network engineering experience in a small-to-medium sized company.
• Minimum of 2 years previous functional leadership and management experience.
• Strong routing and switching expertise in a Cisco environment.
• Strong SD-WAN management expertise in a Silver Peak environment.
• Strong firewall management expertise in a Palo Alto environment.
• Experience with network infrastructure in AWS and Azure clouds, which are managed in partnership with Cloud DevOps team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate with Systems, Information Security, Cloud DevOps, and other teams.
