Senior Design Engineer

We provide our value-added solutions to engineering professionals, contractors, and owners in the Commercial, Public, Industrial, and Energy markets across the U.S. and in select international markets.

We are currently recruiting for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Strengthening Division to support our operations on the west coast.  As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing static and dynamic analysis and designing repair and strengthening solutions for concrete and steel structures.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Reviewing project documents, field investigation and survey reports.
• Conducting structural analysis and developing repair and strengthening concepts using concrete, steel, and Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP).
• Developing construction drawings and communicating details with clients, engineers, and construction crews.

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:

• Bachelor or Master's in Civil Engineering with minimum 8 yrs of experience.
• Good understanding of Civil and Structural Codes, especially seismic requirements and design standards such as ASCE 7 and ASCE 41.
• Experience in seismic engineering including evaluation and upgrades of structural systems and components.
• Strong understanding of structural behavior including elastic, plastic, large deformation, and other nonlinear behavior of structures and foundations.
• Knowledge of design of Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite Strong writing and communication skills and ability to interact with clients, engineers and construction crews.
• Ability to generate structural models using design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000 or similar.
• Ability to perform preliminary and detailed engineering calculations, prepare submittal packages
• Ability to coordinate with draftspersons to generate construction shop drawings.
• PE and SE registration required.
• Team oriented and solution oriented with positive attitude.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.
