Job Summary:
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing, and sending inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receiving, Breakdown and Confirming that the equipment received matches the Vendor PO description and Quantity.
- Notes any discrepancies with the descriptions or quantities and notes any damage to the equipment.
- Helping the inventory supervisor with placing equipment in and out of inventory locations.
- Packing and Shipping orders.
- Driving 26-foot box truck and vans for local deliveries and order shipment.
- Maintaining the warehouse cleanliness.
- Ensuring that all warehouse equipment is properly labeled in is in correct location.
- Ensuring that the proper paperwork has been completed and signed off for any equipment entering and leaving the warehouse.
- Using a forklift to unload the product off the trucks and matching it against the Bill Of Lading for accuracy.
- Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Overtime/overnight trips as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient with inventory control systems.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to drive safely.
- Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
- Ability to plan delivery routes.
- Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
- Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
- Able to always remain professional and courteous.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Forklift Certification a plus (on the job training and certification available).
- Bilingual a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying.
- Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
