QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
Valid Texas Administrator's Certificate;
At least three (3) years of successful experience as a public school district administrator;
Thorough working knowledge of Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code (policies relating to discipline);
Demonstrated ability to communicate, mediate, and problem-solve; and
A visionary leader in public schools to work collaboratively with diverse students, staff, families, and communities to prepare learners for the 21st century.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 250 days
SALARY/PAY GRADE:
$94,473 IA-7
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2022-2023
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services in matters related to that office.
Oversee all aspects of K-12 discipline
Support campus and district administrators in matters related to policies and procedures pertaining to K-12 discipline, Chapter 37, and the Student Code of Conduct/Handbook.
Assist, mentor and support assistant principals and principals.
Work collaboratively with parents, patrons, students, and campus personnel to mediate disputes related to student discipline issues.
Conduct conferences and appeal hearings relating to student discipline and facilitate the placement of students assigned to both district DAEP and county DAEP.
Serve as:
Chapter 37 and student discipline liaison
DAEP liaison
Expulsion officer
JJAEP representative
Work with the Student Services team to create and/or facilitate training for campus administrators, campus staff, and discipline secretaries in the following:
K-12 discipline
Chapter 37
Student Code of Conduct/Student Handbook
Collaborate with departments on policies related to student discipline, Chapter 37, and the Student Code of Conduct/Handbook.
Coordinate TEA’s student discipline data and other discipline-related reports.
Work collaboratively with other district departments and outside entities to plan and coordinate graduation.
Skilled in the use of eSchoolPlus and other programs related to discipline.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district-wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional exposure to the outdoors and noise.
