Position Overview

Ithaca College’s Marketing and Communications team is seeking a responsible, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and creative Ithaca College undergraduate student to assist the directors of Enrollment Marketing and Marketing Strategy with the development of marketing materials and initiatives and related work. This part-time position (5–10 hours per week) offers hands-on experience in copywriting, marketing strategy, research, project management, and digital and print communications.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pitch and develop story ideas that reflect the college’s messaging goals and brand standards.
  • Write, edit, and proofread various projects, including emails, text messages, social posts, web copy, print materials, etc.
  • Assist in creating marketing plans/strategies for Ithaca College programs.
  • Communicate with the IC student population to increase student engagement with

marketing efforts.

  • Perform market research, data gathering, and analysis of competitors and/or target markets. 
  • Assist with content management on various platforms, including Drupal (training will be provided).
  • Correspond with campus partners relative to project review and approval.
  • Provide administrative support for marketing projects and processes using project management software (ClickUp – training will be provided).
  • Track analytics, including email open rates, QR code scans, etc.
  • Document processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Attend a weekly meeting with supervisor(s).
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of marketing, user experience, social media, and event management and promotion
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, knowledge of Outlook (calendar and email)
  • Able to prioritize projects, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring accuracy 
  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently 
  • Responsible, dependable, and dedicated, with good organizational and communication skills
  • Available 5 to 10 hours per week

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred major in Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations; Integrated Marketing Communications; or a related field
  • Willing to commit to working for the entire academic year, not just a semester
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite

    Training (part of onboarding process)

  • Widen [digital asset management system]
  • Slate [constituent relationship management system]
  • Marq [DIY design program]
  • Drupal [web content management system]

Note: You must submit a cover letter and resume to be considered for this position. It is anticipated that the work for this position will take place both on campus in the Peggy Ryan Williams Center and remotely as tasks vary. Preference will be given to students who have been awarded Federal Work Study. Anticipated start date: Fall 2023

Pay Rate: $14.20
