What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Assistant position at Studio 44?
Studio 44 is seeking an upbeat and organized Studio Assistant who will be responsible for assisting the the production team on all shoots for a variety of clients and subjects, both in-studio and on location. Duties will include but are not limited to: manual set-up and tear down of shoot sets, gripping, gaffing, lighting set up, light readings, changing lenses, photography, video acquisition, boom, sound acquisition, loading/unloading of equipment, pick-up and delivery of products used in shoots, pick-up and return of any rental equipment, painting sweeps, set construction as needed and location scouting. This position will work with a variety of subject matter from food and furniture to people and products.
Studio 44 is looking for someone who has a drive to learn and a desire to grow in their career. Equipment is owned by the studio and all training will be provided. Our work is very specific, deliberate, and consistent.
Key Responsibilities/Performance Requirements:
- Maintain organization of studio
- Clean the studio daily
- Preparation (setup / breakdown) of equipment for photo shoots
- Maintain studio organization including receiving, packing and shipping equipment
- Maintaining inventory of equipment and ensure adequate stocking of studio supplies
- Assemble and disassemble furniture and lighting fixtures to be used in photoshoots
- Arrange and move furniture and lighting fixtures prior, during, and after photoshoots
- Use hand and power tools such as drills, hammers, screwdrivers, etc. to assemble and disassemble products used in shoots
- Building and manipulating sets to be used in photoshoots
- Reading and interpreting information used to assemble product
- Utilizing photo editing tools such as photoshop and assisting with color correction and other necessary edits
- Scouting and securing potential photo shoot locations and venues
- Organizing, unpacking, and setting up props and equipment at shoot locations
- Aiding in the creation of shot lists
- Assisting with lighting and camera work
- Taking behind the scenes images and video
- Taking instructions from production team
- Learning and supporting the studio workflow
- Consistently promotes a positive work environment and culture
- Misc. office administrative and general maintenance duties as assigned
- Travel to location shoots as required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, crouch, climb ladders, and lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Self-starter with a passionate attitude and sense of commitment to get the job done quickly, properly and with the highest quality
- Microsoft Office Experience
- Photoshop Experience
- Adobe Creative Suite Experience preferred
- Must have a valid Driver’s license
Location:
This is not a remote job. Must be able to work at the Studio location in De Pere, WI 5 days a week.
