SUMMARY The Project Manager is responsible for the daily activities required to ensure the successful completion of the project (i.e. successful execution of a contract). Primary liaison with the company's customer, project owner and design consultants. Provides guidance related to drawing preparation, approval and distribution. Ensures the required approvals/information is received and distributed in a timely manner for processing to maintain scheduled shop processing and production. Resolves questions and problems for internal and external project activities. Responsibilities also include scheduling, financial accountability, change management and overall project responsibility
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Communicates project requirements to meet internal and external customers' schedules.
- Distributes design drawings, specifications and any special provisions to operations, QA/QC, engineering services and purchasing.
- Provides assistance and information related to drawing preparation, approvals and distribution.
- Develops, collects and processes request for information received from engineering services, purchasing and other suppliers. Distributes results to all affected parties.
- Coordinates and regularly updates customer shipping requirements.
- Financial responsibility concerning invoicing, contract changes and performance issues
- Create, manage and update schedules
- Participate in AASHTO / NSBA Steel Bridge Collaboration
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this duty, an individual must be able to perform, assist and direct others.
- Project management experience related to structural steel fabrication or other construction related fields preferred.
- Able to interpret material and fabrication requirements from contract drawings, specifications and shop detail drawings.
- Able to work with people in situations involving fabrication problems, critical lead times, budgets and deadlines.
- Good oral and written communications.
- Professional attitude.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Preferred three years experience in project management related to structural steel fabrication or similar construction management. A Civil Engineering degree with a PE license is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
