Construction Inspector(s)
STV’s Transportation and Infrastructure group in Douglassville, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, PA is seeking seasoned transportation construction inspectors with experience on PennDOT and PA Turnpike highway and bridge construction and rehabilitation projects.
We have upcoming needs for multiple Construction Inspector (TCI) positions on short-term and long-term projects in the Philadelphia Region. Positions require at least 1 to 5 years of experience on highway and/or bridge construction inspection projects, along with NICET level II or III (Highway Construction), NECEPT Asphalt Field Technician, ACI and/or PennDOT/NECEPT Concrete Technician certifications. An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, or minimally a HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant experience. Required Skills & Relevant Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of construction inspection and/or management experience with NICET II – III Certification in Highway Construction, or with a BS Degree, the ability to obtain these at earliest opportunity
- Experienced with PennDOT’s CDS and ECMS systems, Kahua or other document control software
- Have combination of ACI/PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt, Traffic Control, Guide Rail and/or Stormwater Management certifications
- Knowledge of highway and bridge construction specifications, standards, materials, and work methods
- Math skills as required to make linear, area and volume measurements and calculate items of work in proper measurement units
- Prepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work, including quantity calculations, and witness and document material testing
- Ability to review contractor’s procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with plans and specifications
- Possess strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills (excel, word, emails)
- Willingness to work in a safe manner and within company, project and OSHA safety guidelines on a highway/bridge construction site
- Be able to work nights and weekends and possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Attend training / classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications
Salary : $55,800 - $70,600
