What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2023 Engineering & Supply Chain Co-ops position at Sub-Zero Group, Inc.?
Fall 2023 Co-ops (June 2023-January 2024)
- Advanced Design Engineering
- Works to design, develop, test and document new designs as well as design enhancements to Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove products. You would create a design, prototype it, build it to test, and then redesign the product to make corrections as needed.
- Quality (QA) Engineering
- Collaborate cross-functionally on continuous improvement projects throughout the organization, effectively engaging shop floor operators to engineering management, while enhancing product quality. Utilize technical skills including: root cause investigation, metrology for data collection, and statistical data analysis, to ensure cutting-edge technologies are capable of creating products that meet the company’s innovative vision.
- Reliability Engineering
- Works closely with other engineers to develop solutions to reliability issues with current appliance products as well as assisting in the process of reliability assurance during the Product Development cycle on new appliances. Includes: Fixture Development, Test Planning and Implementation, and Risk Identification, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Supply Chain
- You will assist with project work that will enhance current planning systems performance, improve business process efficiency, and develop new technology tools in the Supply Chain- Planning and Inventory department.
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Helps coordinate the complete manufacturing process starting with sheet metal fabrication all the way to different cells in the assembly areas. Performs analysis of procedures and design fixtures while working to increase productivity and efficiency through the plant. Works closely with CNC programmers and design engineers to ensure parts can be manufactured in a safe production manner.
- Operations & Production Engineering
- Work on a specific production team working with hourly employees, reliability engineers, test engineers, quality engineers, and manufacturing engineers. Projects will vary but will support Safety, Delivery, Cost and Quality on that specific production team.
