Position Overview:
The System Design and Implementation Group is looking for a Fiber Optics Network Designer with advanced skills in fiber optics technology to help design and implement high-capacity undersea fiber-optic networks. This person will work as part of the team of optical network designers and engineers that deliver undersea optical communication systems. They use computer modeling tools and data from products, experiments and deployed systems to develop new designs of state-of-the-art optical transmission systems. This person reports to the Director of System Design and Product Management and will actively collaborate with people from Manufacturing, Project Management, Sales, and R&D organizations. Responsibilities include development of specifications for new systems and tracking their implementation during manufacturing, installation and commissioning. The job offers opportunities for exploratory work on new technologies and developing simulation software tools.
