What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Trainer position at Substitute Teacher Service?
STS is looking for an individual with experience in a Special or General Education setting to fulfill the role of a Job Trainer in Elanco School District for the 24/25 school year.
A Job Trainer provides on-the-job support and instruction to Special Education and/or General Education students in the areas of job-readiness/career planning. With this support, the goal is for these individuals to become independent and maintain employment.
Job Duties
- Identify the specific job duties to support student in the completion of assigned tasks.
- Review the job duties and environment with the student
- Review safety procedures with the student
- Identify natural supports in the workplace that the student can use for job support
- Observe the appropriateness of the way the student interacts with others and remediate as necessary.
- Observe the productivity of others to help the student work at a competitive pace as needed.
- Fit the kind of instruction, amount of instruction and level of prompting to the student’s learning styles and needs.
- Help the student to develop their own system for completing tasks so that you can reduce support as necessary (fading reliance).
- Collect student performance data as directed.
- Communicate with the student about specific work/social skills needed for success.
Job Type: 10-month (school year)
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Hours/Schedule: 7:15 am - 2:45 pm / Monday through Friday
Education: High School Diploma/Associate's Degree preferred
Experience: 2 years working with students in an Education classroom setting.'
