Open World Designer
Sucker Punch is looking for an Open World Game Designer who shares our passion for pushing creative limits and redefining expectations about what games can be. A successful candidate will have a passion for making a game world come alive and enticing players to explore what the landscape offers.
An ideal candidate will have proven experience creating open world gameplay that emphasizes a mix of: Exploration, Combat, Navigation and Narrative.

This is a contract role. As well as open to remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base annual pay range for this role is: $60,600 - $90,800.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement a large variety of content including navigation scenarios, open world encounters, puzzles, memorable moments, and missions.
- Use a variety of architecture kits, terrain, and block-mesh to layout open world gameplay.
- Use existing mechanics to develop puzzles and open world gameplay.
- Partner with writers to document and implement missions.
- Create and deliver tasks within clear deadlines across multiple content types.
- Work closely with the Project Directors and other Leads to ensure quality across your areas of ownership.
- Continuously strive to push the quality of your work higher.
Qualifications
- Ability to design, script, and layout content in a dynamically changing production environment.
- Scripting ability (XML, LUA, PYTHON, etc) or fluency in a programming language.
- Layout skills using a variety of in-engine tools such as architecture kits, terrain, block-mesh.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
- An aptitude for learning new technology, layout tools, scripting languages, engines, and systems.

- Ability to work in office 2-3 days per week.
- Familiarity with Sucker Punch games.
- Positive, proactive, self-motivated, and driven to excellence.
- Happiest when working closely with senior mentors.
- Student of the craft. Always interested in learning new things.
