WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Biodetection Specialist, you will collaborate closely with other engineering functions to develop and launch new products and support existing products within the Biodetection product line. Additionally, you will create technical documentation and collateral; provide technical training and guidance to other departments, sales partners, and customers; and support field service and product management teams with advanced troubleshooting and applications support.

·         Creates and executes test plans using analytical instrumentation and measuring equipment to support project deliverables. 30%

·         Provides training and technical guidance to internal teams, sales partners, and customers.

·         Analyzes data using sound statistical and engineering principles, summarizes results, and authors test reports.

·         Creates and maintains technical collateral to capture advanced troubleshooting and applications knowledge.

·         Documents designs including analytical methods, unit operations, timing, and algorithms. Documents part, performance, software, and factory acceptance specifications.

·         Creates, maintains, and communicates test plans including schedule, personnel, and resource estimates.

·         Provides troubleshooting support and escalation assistance to field service associates during on-site customer visits.

·         Conducts analytical performance testing as part of the firmware/software release process.

·         Mentors early career engineering personnel.

·         Demonstrates proficiency in digital media content creation such as troubleshooting and How-To videos

·         Supports EHS and lab infrastructure initiatives to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Biodetection Specialist is responsible for the development and continuous improvement of Biodetection platforms. As a key contributor to the design and development efforts, the Biodetection Specialist also serves as the primary technical point of contact to support customers as well as other departments within Analytical Instruments by providing training; technical support; and applications expertise.

 

The ideal candidate has a strong analytical, biochemical, and pharmaceutical background and enjoys developing analytical instrumentation. They like working in a team environment and collaborating with others to develop solutions to technical challenges. They are skilled at capturing and communicating technical product knowledge and developing technical documentation. Additionally, they are thoughtful, cooperative, and can build relationships with both customers and co-workers. They can handle multiple shifting properties with professionalism and good judgement.

 

Core Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or Chemistry Required

·         4 years or more in a product development environment related to analytical instruments OR biodetection systems

·         3 years or more in pharmaceutical compliance or endotoxin testing.

 

Useful skills and abilities:

·         Bacterial endotoxin assay using 96 well plates- High

·         Proficient lab skills including pipetting, chemical handling, and standard preparation - High

·         Excellent troubleshooting skills with dexterity to repair/assemble instrumentation - High

·         Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on empathy, engagement, teamwork, and positive attitude - High

·         Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interface with a wide range of personality types and skill sets - High

·         Ability to create and execute detailed test protocols, summarize results, and communicate conclusions - High

·         Ability to create training, troubleshooting, and product reference materials and presentations that are easy to navigate and understand - High

·         Working knowledge of Bioburden testing Medium Working knowledge of basic statistics, data analysis, hypothesis testing - Medium

·         Ability to create and maintain schedule for functional activities as part of product development process. Create and meet deadlines.

Compensation: Annual 95,000.00 - 115,000.00 USD
