Maintenance Supervisor Job Description
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Direct Reports: Maintenance Leads, Maintenance Mechanics
Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics and maintenance leads. Responsible for ensuring bakery production equipment and facility upkeep. Ensures equipment uptime and throughput is maximized without sacrificing safety, food safety and quality. Maintains cost-effective operation of the department.
Schedule: Schedule anticipated to be Monday - Friday with weekends as needed. Maintenance Manager is open to accommodating Supervisor's preferred shift schedule, but there may be instances where the Supervisor will need to come in on a different shift to observe, train or oversee maintenance team members.
Responsibility or Job/Duty Description
Supervises maintenance activities. Tracks individual and team performance. Ensures all mechanic and lead activities follow safety, food safety, and quality requirements, GMP, company and department policies.
Supports activities to achieve company and department goals and objectives.
Identifies skills improvement opportunities for each team member. Provides and coordinates training. Tracks progress and provides coaching. Participates in selection, recognition, disciplining and evaluation of department staff.
Performs routine audits of work orders in FIIX CMMS system vs actual work performed for workmanship and timely execution, content, identifies opportunities to improve, and provides feedback.
Builds and maintains harmonious partnership with other departments. Ensures constant effective communication.
Maintains contact and is responsible for coordination of contractor activities. Monitors and verifies contracted work and ensures contractor compliance to company safety and food safety policies. Performs training of contactors on safety and food safety requirements and/ or escorts them until their work is completed.
Promotes root cause mentality to address chronic and major equipment downtime contributors. Brainstorm, generate and track completion of corrective and preventive actions.
Promotes continuous improvement activities. Encourage suggestions, group discussions, have improvement projects implemented and track results.
Provides effective troubleshooting guidance for technical issues. Encourages use of reference manuals and schematics. Ensures use of OEM tech support and online resources are maximized.
Ensures shop upkeep is regularly performed. Ensures parts room is organized and procedures are strictly followed.

- Monitors WO order completion
- Provides technical support to the organization.
- Daily walk through of the facility and production lines and follow up with corrective actions and temporary repairs.
- Ensures daily pass down communication is performed between shifts.
- Analyzes workload and adjusts schedules to ensure safe, high quality and timely work.
- Actively shares information and learnings with others while encouraging others to actively gather and share information.

Minimum Education and Related Experience Requirements
- High school diploma
- Must have at least 3-5 years of Maintenance Supervision experience
Minimum Language Requirements
- English; communication, reading, grammar, writing skills
Minimum Admin Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, etc. Internet research, typing skills
- Familiar using CMMS to track work orders, PMs, etc.
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Must be able to carry at least 50lbs occasionally and be able to perform a variety of physical activities such as walking, lifting, carrying, and climbing,
- Work will be performed in a large industrial bakery that can be a hot environment during summer months,
- Work may also be performed in cold storage/freezer areas.
