LA Roller Operator

Job Title: LA Roller Operator

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for our Liquid Applications Roller Operator.

Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

· Understanding of compaction requirements

· Basic understanding of rolling patterns required to achieve desired results preferred

· Ability to maintain equipment

· Ability to labor

· Basic troubleshooting

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Strong work ethic

· Physical Organization and time management

· Flexibility in hours – overtime and weekend hours may be necessary

• Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools
• CDL License a plus
• NYS DOT or similar paving experience
• Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
• Consent to a DMV license evaluation
• Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

· Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present

· Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

• Ability to read and understand SDS

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

• High school diploma or GED – a two year technical degree is preferred

• Basic math skills

Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
