What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Mill Operator Technician position at Suit-Kote Corporation?
Overview:
Suit-Kote Corporation is currently seeking Mill Operator Technicians for the production of various asphalt emulsion materials. Current openings 3rd shift and will include in-house training to address the production methods and procedures needed to perform job tasks safely and efficiently.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Perform specific duties in the production of various materials used in the road construction industry, which may include: asphalt emulsion, asphalt binder, aggregates, road paving mixtures, and other raw materials.
- Sample gathering of elevated-temperature materials and corrosive products.
- Operate forklifts and man lifts
- Scale in and out trucks
- Housekeeping duties as assigned
- Maintenance tasks and mechanical duties (pumps, gauges, valves, etc.) along with activities in elevated-heights.
- Truck loading and unloading
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Reliable transportation to and from work site
- Strong work ethic
- Strong math skills
- Physical Organization and time management
- Flexibility in hours – overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
- Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
- Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting
Other Preferred Qualities:
- Ability to read and understand SDS
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
- Consent to a DMV license evaluation
- Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
