Job Title: Senior Software Systems Engineer - MDA Safety Division
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Safety Division of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) located in Huntsville, Alabama. You will assist the government's Safety Division to develop, test, and field an integrated Missile Defense System (MDS). You will be tasked to provide high quality, professional services in a hybrid work environment (teleworking and onsite work).
This position will provide technical and program management support for the QS directorate at the Program and Project Safety Programs. This support includes the development, implementation, and execution of MDS software safety policies, requirements, and programs; system safety risk identification and management process; and safe conduct of system demonstration activities.
Some duties include providing the government with assistance to prepare and review of engineering, research, and risk studies and technical reports; interface with our client; attend project meetings and prepare presentations; status tasks and track schedules; and assist with marketing and proposal preparation.
Required Skills/Education:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, structural, electrical, etc.) from ABET accredited institution and eight (8) years of experience in Software Engineering or Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering. Qualified candidates could also hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university in a scientific field (e.g. Physics, Engineering Technology, Computer Science) with ten (10) years demonstrated skill and relevant experience in System Safety Engineering or Software System Engineering.
The type of experience we are looking for includes, following and working with system and software safety processes, as described in MIL-STD 882 (Rev E preferred), during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical software systems and their integration with safety-critical hardware systems. Will need to have developed and presented safety assessments to a diverse audience. Experience in developing and deploying technical solutions to resolve complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
