SRK Ohio is in need of a qualified individual to fill the role of Payroll and HRIS Specialist in the Human Resources Department. The Payroll & Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Specialist will be primarily responsible for processing all hourly / non-exempt and salary / exempt payroll, updating, and maintaining HRIS data, and ensure optimal utilization of the HRIS, including supporting users and staying abreast of new system functionalities and developments. Must be able to maintain complete confidentiality of all sensitive information. Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative. The Payroll and HRIS Specialist reports to the Manager of Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for associates utilizing ADP WorkForce Now and Enterprise eTime & Attendance software
  • Ensure accurate payroll records, including tracking incremental increases for required positions, monthly bonus, benefit deductions, garnishments, child support, taxation, etc.
  • Administer perfect attendance incentive program and offer support to supervisors and team leaders with time management and attendance programs
  • Update and maintain payroll records; assist associates with payroll related questions
  • Prepare manual adjustments and payments as needed; maintain orderly associate file records and inventory of required forms
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations; ensure payroll compliance through annual tax filing notices and documents
  • Support internal and external audit requirements; provide detailed reporting as requested
  • Assist with payroll and HRIS related training to ensure accurate and timely payrolls; ability to lead payroll projects as needed
  • Verify benefit invoices to payroll and assist in SRK-OH benefit related tasks when necessary; responsible for funding 401(k), COBRA benefit payments, and tuition reimbursement program
  • Serve as point contact with ADP; lead open items, discussions, and coordinating changes/improvements from open to close
  • Perform other HR administrative duties and as requested

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to maintain highly confidential information
  • · Working knowledge of payroll tax filings and employer responsibilities
  • · Detail oriented, with good organizational skills
  • · Possess a positive attitude and self-motivation with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • · Professional and courteous demeanor toward all associates, deliver exceptional customer service
  • · Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • · Continuous improvement (Kaizen) attitude; exhibit a willingness to learn, problem solve and offer suggestions for improvement
  • · Embrace change; willing to adapt and adjust routines accordingly
  • · A Bachelor or Associate’s Degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience and training is required
  • · Experience with ADP WorkForce Now is strongly preferred
  • · Project management experience and systems implementation experience is preferred
  • · Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • · Must be willing to work various hours to complete payroll activities when holidays dictate adjustments
