Electrical Designer – Cables
Location: Magnolia, TX (fully on-site)
Requirements:
Requirements:
- 3 years relevant experience working directly with cables, connectors, electrical assemblies and harnesses, producing electrical schematics, cable assembly drawings and other technical documents.
- Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) – preferably electrical, mechanical, or similar.
- AutoCAD proficiency required; SolidWorks proficiency would be an added bonus.
- Strong oral and written communicator, capable of taking direction, but also a self-starter when it comes to solving problems.
- Values a great working culture and actively wants to contribute to building strong internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to manufacturing during project execution, including:
- Tooling issues: identify correct tooling requirements, provide solutions if tooling is missing.
- Project execution plans: help the Projects team and Production team to build a production strategy for highly complex projects.
- Resolve issues with clients during the quoting phase, and manufacturing phase.
- Provide technical drawings incorporating the client’s needs, whilst remaining within our capabilities.
- If new tooling or processes are required to execute a project, provide an outline of the issue and solutions outlining the time and costs for each solution.
- Assist multiple departments beyond the engineering department, including but not limited to:
- Quoting: Help to outline the correct parts, cable, connectors etc. to meet the specifications. Provide feedback on substitute parts.
- Manufacturing: See above outline.
- Project management: Further to the manufacturing responsibilities, provide assistance to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
