We are looking for a rockstar to join our high functioning People Operations Department, working to help make the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District the best possible place to work. You will help us recruit the talent that makes us a top tier utility, continually improve our HRIS system, assist with building our People Analytics capacity, make our people programs more efficient, and handle the matters of the moment.
This position will be expected to do a bit of everything, but recruitment, training, and development will be main focuses. This position makes sure our employees have what they need, that we are hiring the best people, and that our culture is going in the right direction. This is a great role for someone that has years of experience on a people team and is looking to take their skills to the next level. We are a data-driven bunch of talented people professionals that is always looking to crack the code on employee engagement. We care more about employees as human beings than numbers on a spreadsheet. Recruitment, survey, and uniform program experience is highly desired. A background in industrial-organizational psychology, business administration, public administration, or data would be helpful.

As a Department, the People Operations team has a varied skillset, with expertise on a variety of topics that make us unique. The Schedule:
This is a hybrid role that will work Monday to Friday. This position will be expected to be on-site 2-3 days a week and needs to connect with staff at each of our main locations (Edwards, Avon, Vail).
The Day to Day:
- Culture: Choose the positive, be the cultural role model that employees need, create policies that lead to equitable outcomes, be direct and honest with colleagues and stakeholders, have difficult conversations, and be a master of follow-up.
- Recruitment: Work closely with hiring managers, use diverse job sourcing, respond to candidates quickly, maintain our awesome employment brand, onboard new employees, and set up new employees for success.
- Training: Plan, develop, and deliver engaging training. Coordinate follow-ups and work with vendors as needed. Become certified on the next training topic our organization needs.
- HRIS: Improve the UX of all HRIS processes. Ensure we have access to the critical data that we need, in as few steps as possible. Lean all processes.
- Safety: Embrace the safety culture of the district and follow all safety and security protocols. Assist your Risk & Safety colleagues as needed.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with all departments and district staff. Step in without hesitation when your colleagues in Risk & Safety, and Housing need assistance. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, positive attitude, and be a team player
- Employee Relations: Serve as back-up to assist with sensitive personnel matters as-needed (investigations, disciplinary meetings, performance improvement plans, etc.).
- Total Rewards: Implement compensation policies and help the finance team process payroll to get folks paid. Administer benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and more. Manage access to other perks and benefits. Execute motivating employee recognition programs.
Qualifications & Competencies
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's license within 30 days of full-time employment and be insurable under District's standards.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: Three (3) years of professional human resources experience, preferably for a public agency or utility.
- Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the first two (2) years of employment.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this salaried position is $78,044.72 to $109,241.60. Starting pay depends on qualifications. Annual merit increases and cost-of-living adjustments are a routine aspect of the district’s pay structure.
