What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Caretaker position at Summer's Goldens?
Job Description:
- Dog chores.
- Maintain and clean kennel. Observe what needs to be done, prioritize tasks, and accomplish them.
- Attend puppy births.
- Take care of puppies, including holding and socializing them.
- Drive dogs to the vet (puppy check-ups, progesterone tests, pregnancy tests, health issues as needed). Use the van provided.
- Groom and walk dogs regularly.
- Watch children on a scheduled basis.
- Keep track of kennel supplies.
- Purchase supplies as needed. Use the van and credit card provided.
- Other miscellaneous jobs at the property as needed (sweep garage, move mulch, mow lawn, etc.).

Honesty and integrity are highly valued. We are a small family business, and we work together as a team.
Births may or may not occur during normal daily hours. It is helpful to keep a flexible schedule around the days a mother is due to give birth. About 10-12 litters are born per year.
Average weekly hours: 40. Hours may be less with fewer puppies and increase with more puppies.
Two weeks of paid vacation each year.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
