Summerfield Post Acute Rehab is a preferred provider of POST ACUTE REHAB services in Santa Rosa, CA. We are currently searching for a Nurse Manager - Director of Staff Development to join our team. This is an ideal position for a nurse who is interested in exploring a management path in their career.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Serve as a member of various patient care committees (i.e. Bowel and Bladder, Infection Control, etc.)
- Particpate in patient care conferences as a member of the Inter-disciplinary Team
- Serve as a manager of the CNA staff (i.e. oversee their training and development, ensure accountability with facility standards and expectations, coordinate scheduling and time off requests in collaboration with the Staffing Coordinator, etc.)
- Assist the Director of Nursing with other facility needs and initiatives as directed.
In addition to the above you will perform all of the required functions of the Director of Staff Development position including but not limited to:
- Develop and direct new-hire orientation programs for all personnel, in accordance with our established policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular or special in-service training sessions for staff to ensure they remain current on new procedures, changes in policies, etc,
- Assist licensed nursing personnel (i.e., RNs, LVNs, and CNAs) in obtaining in-service training to keep their license current in accordance with state law.
- Meet with department supervisors, on a regularly scheduled basis, and solicit advice concerning their training needs, and assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
- Implement recommendations from the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee as they relate
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of nursing expierence, RN or LVN.
- Previous experience as a Nurse Manager or DSD (Director of Staff Development) is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Ideally we are looking for someone who has a passion for teaching, a strong leader of people and things, demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills, and exhibits strong clinical judgement.
