POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for the detailed E&I design from conceptual design through field startup. Support FEL process, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of the project. Accountable for E&I reviews and evaluates the technical correctness of designs and installations. Manages I&E staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Provide leadership to staff and contractors for I&E design for assigned facilities

· Leads the development of hardware architecture for control systems including: System hardware designs, network architectures, control panel layouts, loop / schematic designs, cable routing and schedules, instrument evaluations and location drawings, instrument index/IO lists, and P&ID development

· Develop and/or reviews method, materials, and installations to ensure correctness and compliance with standards, applicable codes, regulatory requirements, and project deliverables

· Defines specifications for budgetary quotes/estimates related to equipment and designs

· Evaluate and make recommendations for outside resources on E&I designs

· Supervise installation of fiber optics, cable routes, control panels, etc.

· Works with building systems including HVAC, Fire alarm & Loss prevention system, etc.

· Ability to write instrument specifications

· Plan and executes hardware factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, and commissioning & start-up

· Select, apply, and troubleshoot various instrumentation & control systems

- Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety-related matters

· Following construction; using documentation developed by staff and engineering contractors, ensure all engineering controls are in place and operational for safety for both automation and electrical. Ensure documentation of the initial testing is in place and a schedule for future testing is implemented

· Ensure all technical support staff are trained and received the correct qualifications for their scope of work

  • Ensure all electrical work is performed with all local, state, and national regulations and guidelines
  • Create solutions when in-scope work becomes the critical path for project schedule

Candidate Profile:

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or AAS Industrial Electricity preferred

· 5 Years I&E Experience, Pipeline experience a plus but not required

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and be able to use or quickly learn to use and apply other relevant computer systems

· Experience and basic knowledge of various standards, codes, and industry practices for safe E&I designs including ISA84, NEC, and NFPA

· Up to 50% travel required
