What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Base Administrator position at Summit Health Management?

The SQL Server Database Administrator implements, supports and maintains SQL Server database software, and ensures its performance, availability, and security across a large enterprise. He/she provides input to architecture and data center teams on infrastructure design standards for SQL server and reviews architecture and project deliverables to ensure that proposed solutions meet or exceed established standards. He/she provides outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers in a very large 24x7 highly available environment. The DBA is responsible for providing input to and guiding other SQL resources in regard to SQL standards and best practices
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
This is a highly technical, production DBA hands-on role supporting complex database systems for the loyalty platform. Responsibilities include database best practices and assessment, automating monitoring performance, database backups, maintenance, documenting configuration changes, tracking and resolving database requests within SLAs.
* Strong experience with transactional 24-7 Database Administration of SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2017 and Azure
* Perform assessment and analysis showing current versus best practice gaps and recommended remediation
* Experience with of AlwaysOn High Availability, Failover Cluster Instance, Log Shipping
* Experience in troubleshooting and resolving performance issues, blocking, parallelism, CPU, resource contention, query optimization, index optimization, SQL Profiler, Query Store, Service Broker
* Understands best practice access and security controls how implement / manage / improve
* Experience in managing high volume transactional traffic with experience in building shared databases to horizontally scale and advising application developers on how to work across distributed views, etc.
* Could assist in a re-architecture process if required or can at least talk to similar strategy
* Responsible for the performance and development of relational databases to store and process data within large program modules within the loyalty platform.
* Knowledge of reporting, query tools and practices
* Database maintenance, DBCC, table and index statistics, index fragmentation on SSD SAN
* Working knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server configuration, maintenance plans, connection monitoring, storage considerations and performance, tempdb performance.
* Work collaboratively in an open environment using version control and TFS

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Sciences or related technical field.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in the field.
* High Transactional Database Tuning and Management
* Has experience as a DBA across traditional hosted and Azure/Cloud/AWS environments / solutions
* Experience with SQL Server, large databases (>1TB), data importing, data warehouse and reporting
* Experience in ecommerce or similar high "transactional" industry
* Demonstrated success applying best practice performance tuning technologies and techniques to both database structures, as well as database queries and procedures.
* Working knowledge of the following skills is good to have:
* Knowledge of database architecture, partitioning, creating and optimizing database tables
* Requirements analysis, data normalization, data modeling in Erwin, Visio or SSMS
* Data visualization, BI and reporting tools such as Tableau, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, R
* Service Broker deployment and optimization
* Microsoft SQL Server (2016, 2017, 2019) T-SQL, functions, procedures and triggers
* High technical ability, attention to detail, ability to identify and resolve issues, work effectively in a team.
