Responsibilities
Internal Medicine Associates - Powell, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their practice. This is a Full-time opportunity.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Prepares and updates patient records as required by physician(s)/practitioner(s) using electronic medical records (EHR) system.
- Contacts patients regarding test results or other related reasons as directed.
- Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences including the recording of vital signs of patients (pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, etc.)
- Performing appropriate procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitor, etc. and assisting the physician(s) and/or providers with other procedures as appropriate.
- Administering medications and conducting patient education as required.
- Maintains stocked, neat and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
- Handles phone nursing when appropriate, to include triaging, pre-certs, referrals, calling in prescriptions, etc.
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures (including the corporate compliance program), and follows state and federal regulations, such as OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Adheres to site-specific protocols and expectations.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Prefer vocational or college credits.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office setting required.
*Required competency using EHR and Microsoft Outlook.
License/Certification: Current State of Tennessee Registered Nurse or License in Practical Nursing Required.
