SUMMARY
The IT Senior System Applications Developer is a member of a team of software professionals responsible for scoping, analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing software based on business needs and requirements. IT System Applications Developers will also provide excellent customer service and support on existing software and work closely as a team to continually improve the software portfolio for Summit Polymers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Learn and Improve Summit’s software systems and how they relate to our business principles, requirements, and objectives.
· Provides outstanding support to users and stakeholders on existing software including gathering feedback, troubleshooting, testing, updating, training, and debugging.
· Works on a team to establish all possible options for designing and delivering the best software solutions based on sound analytical judgment, stakeholder input, and the customer’s best interests.
· Delivers optimized software that is robust, efficient, and highly modular.
· Develops software according to functional and technical design specifications and maintains a “common sense” approach that serves to recognize potential design gaps and provides insight into closing them.
· Creates and designs databases, views, stored procedures, and user-defined functions of varying complexity with a “best practices” approach to keys, indices and relationships in SQL Server.
· Assists with management of Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server with regards to administration and performance tuning.
· Works with stakeholders to create current process maps, analyzes user and business needs, determines components and functionality, and completes specification packages for software systems.
· Updates and writes documentation for software systems.
· Integrates software components and third-party programs.
· Utilize Jira/Sprints for project progress.
· Performs and assists with business analysis and quality assurance activities as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· BS in Computer Science plus 2 years experience in a similar role required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 2-5 years’ experience of software development in C#/.NET. PowerApps, PowerBI
· Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and Javascript.
· Demonstrated experience writing and analyzing SQL queries
· Source control management experience (Git)

· Understanding of ASP.Net MVC, modern web frameworks/systems (e.g. jQuery, Node.js), and agile development methodologies.
· A minimum score of 26 on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position typically does not require any travel.
