Position Summary:

Clinical Applications Support Analyst serves as a member of the Corporate Information Systems team providing support and expertise on applications utilized by the hospitals clinical departments. Key responsibilities include direct involvement with the support, maintenance, development and training of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. This person is responsible for working with clinical users, facility EMR managers, Information Technology (IT) staff and corporate operations to resolve issues and requests, and coordinate with product vendors support as required. This person must have the ability to analyze processes and systems as they impact the organizations initiatives and effectively communicate resolutions/options to stakeholders and end users.

This is a remote position, requiring the analyst to maintain a suitable work environment in home during defined working hours.

Position Responsibilities:

Clinical / Technical Skills (40% of performance review)

  • Works closely with facility and corporate clinical leadership, onsite EMR leads and IT managers, and other stakeholder teams as well as vendor services staff to support and maintain applications in a manner that is aligned with clinical workflows and priorities
  • Performs independent analysis of issues, evaluating possible causes, and determines correct solution to employ or coordinates with internal resources or vendors for support escalation
  • Proactively identifies and configures application settings to resolve issues, improve application workflows and end user experience
  • Evaluates software updates and revisions, identifies impacted stakeholders and effectively communicates/coordinates functionality changes
  • Acts as a liaison between technical and clinical/business subject matter experts in creating and defining functional requirements and information needs for product enhancement requests and special projects
  • Maintains detailed and up-to-date documentation of issues, resolutions, and projects within help desk system
  • Works well independently, organizing multiple issues and projects based on current priorities
  • May potentially call for occasional light travel to facilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess impact on departments and recognize/communicate potential problem trends
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Required: Bachelors Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Business, Informatics or Clinical related field
  • Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
  • May substitute experience for education

Experience

  • Required: Minimum three (3) years of prior clinical applications support and/or build experience supporting hospital clinical and pharmacy staff, to include executing EMR/EHR configuration changes.
  • Preferred: Extensive understanding of clinical operations and workflows within a healthcare system
