Statement of Purpose: Responsible for leading, administering and directing, through Department Directors, hospitality-based services across independent living and health care operations. Within the framework of delegated authority and consistent with Sun Health policies and procedures for designated departments across the Community, ensures a quality program of services, sound fiscal operation and good management of all internal and external affairs, thereby providing a point of accountability for all the department-specific activities.

Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Follows the Sun Health organization plans defining divisions of operations, chain of command, and allocation of functions and reporting relationships for assigned departments.
  • Plans for the direction and monitoring of each assigned department, defines the delegation of authority to department heads and other personnel, implements actions to maintain a low level of accidents and incidents and monitors staffing levels in compliance with regulatory requirements and budgetary provisions.
  • Monitors resident and family satisfaction and implements remedial measures as required for assigned departments.
  • Follows Sun Health's established performance management and leadership development programs and monitors procedures for employee performance evaluation, inventory levels and procedures for purchasing, inventory control and security.
  • Monitors and supervises compliance with applicable government statutes, regulations and standards. Assures Sun Health Communities' operating philosophies, standards, policies and procedures are followed. Monitors performance in relation to established plans of action.
  • Establishes budgetary goals for approval.
  • Oversees the development of specific budgets for each assigned department, makes periodic operations adjustments in order to achieve budgetary objectives and recommends adjustments to meet substantial operational changes.
  • Is responsible for full managerial scope and authority for employment actions, including coaching, candidate selection, training and development, performance appraisals, work assignments, and disciplinary action for assigned leaders and secondarily for their teams.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with the residents and resident representatives.
  • Develops a positive professional relationship with residents, resident family members, team members, professional organizations, community groups, and other appropriate entities as the leader of the community.
  • Demonstrates the Sun Health Vibrant Living culture and provides all customers and other stakeholders with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating Sun Health behaviors (The 6Cs) each and every day.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in senior living operations.
  • Experience in operational and financial management with proven success creating and executing strategies and plans that will improve performance and outcomes for the business.
  • Three to five years of related management/supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Possess current or ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
