The opportunity: The Business Analyst, Actuarial Pricing is responsible for providing business and financial analysis to support Management on new business and renewal pricing strategies for Sun Life's Stop Loss products and other initiatives within the Health & Risk Solutions business. This includes building and maintaining systems, data, and reporting capabilities to enhance pricing effectiveness and support the ongoing needs of the business. How you will contribute: Maintain renewal reporting and analysis; collaborate with Underwriting and Sales providing technical expertise in various pricing components to our block Create premium and claims databases and reports ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and innovative solutions to align our data to the business’s needs Evaluate and recommend processes to improve quality and efficiency of business Explore new database sources and update existing reporting structures Support the business’s data & analytics strategy through the continuous improvement framework Collaborate with Reporting Center of Excellence to ensure consistency and efficiency of work Supervises timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting packages and management dashboards Provide ad-hoc, independent reporting using knowledge of systems and databases What you will bring with you: 1-3 years of experience – relevant health care or insurance experience preferred Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business administration, finance, or another quantitative field Work well both independently and in a team environment Superior communication skills, technical expertise, and business acumen Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to think creatively for new and improved solutions Strong verbal and written communication skills; articulate and persuasive Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable dealing with a broad range of internal clients SAS (or other programming language), VBA and advanced Excel skills Do you see yourself in this role even if you haven’t checked all the boxes above? If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is: Southern region: $64,800 – 97,200 annually Central region: $68,300 – 102,500 annually Northern region: $73,000 – 109,600 annually If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $61,800 – 92,800 annually. If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $73,000 – 109,600 annually. If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $68,300 – 102,500 annually.
