The opportunity: In the Client Manager Role (CM), you will work directly with the Stop Loss Specialists (SLS) to manage prospect, sold case, and renewal inventory. The CM also works with brokers and third-party administrators (TPA) to manage complex service inquiries. The CM is required to look for creative ways to solve our customers’ problems and bring them to resolution.
This includes prospect and renewal activity, policy implementation, claims issues, broker compensation issues, and revision requests. This position requires strong negotiation skills to influence decisions that meet both customer needs and the company’s goals and priorities.
How you will contribute:
- Partnering with SLS in the implementation and execution of prospect and renewal activity
- Maintaining an effective quote and renewal pipeline for each SLS
- Providing SLS case level support, working with underwriting, delivering, and following up on proposals, capturing final outcome, and identifying sold plan designs
- Providing SLS renewal support, acquiring required data for underwriting, delivering renewal packages, capturing final outcome, and identifying sold plan designs
- Managing service issues for all in-force policies to ensure customer satisfaction and positively influence persistency
- Servicing existing Sun Life brokers and TPAs by responding to phone calls and e-mails requesting assistance
- Maintaining and updating Client Relationship Management system regarding telephone conversations and activities in designated territories
- Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the Stop Loss products, services and processes, and the overall Self-Insured industry and competitive landscape
- Acting as a liaison between the home office and the Stop Loss Specialists in the field
- Preparing and distributing marketing materials to SLS, brokers, and TPAs
What you will bring with you:
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people
- 1 years of Group Insurance / Stop Loss Insurance experience preferred
- Account Management and/or Sales Client Management support experience preferred
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Experience using CRM tools to track and manage the activity of sales force
- Knowledge of group insurance, distribution, and customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills; written and verbal (with strong telephone presence)
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team
- Demonstrated success in negotiation, persuasion, and solutions‐based service requiring cross departmental involvement
- Proven record of providing strong and effective customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsiveness
- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Southern California region: $61,700-$92,600 annually
- Central California region: $65,000-$97,500 annually
- Northern California region: $69,500-$104,300 annually
If you are a Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $58,900-$88,400 annually
If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $61,700-$92,600 annually
If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $65,000-$97,500 annually
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $69,500-$104,300 annually
