Sun river Health is seeking a full-time WIC Clerk to join our team at our Liberty site.
A WIC Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties necessary for implementation of the WIC program. S/he will work with WIC Nutritionist and other staff engaged in providing assistance to qualified women, infants and children. In addition, perform job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a WIC Clerk:
- Assigns and explains all appointments to participants, providing and reviewing appropriate forms required for appointments, including physical presence of family members.
- Explains WIC policies and procedures to all participants, including but not limited to appointment details, rights and responsibilities, Use of NYWIC ecard, proxies and confidentiality.
- Is able to provide explanation to participants in unusual cases, such as foster children, custody issues or when further documentation is required.
- Actively participates in clinic function and flow assisting participants when needed.
- Is up to date with completion of reminder and no show calls to participants, reminder and No show calls are completed regularly. Additional tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
- Thoroughly documents in a clear and concise manner any incidents or explanations needed in NYWIC
- Works in various WIC sites when needed.
- Process participant eligibility based on income, residency and category. And Inputs data into NYWIC
- Screens applicants for income eligibility and update household information and documents referrals to and from in NYWIC
- Utilizes tools and materials provided, such as NYWIC library, scripts and dialogues
- Maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that promotes understanding and cooperation with clients, customers, coworkers and supervisors.
- Maintain customer and employee confidence and protects WIC operations by keeping information confidential.
- Ability to problem solve while dialing with demands of the job.
- Ability to deal with unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Follows instruction and responds to management directions
- Assists with voter registration process.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School diploma/ GED
Minimum Work-Related Experience: 0-1 year
Preferred Work-Related Experience: 2-4 years
Preferred Specialized Skills and Knowledge: Ability to communicate in English and Spanish (orally and written)
Hourly Range: $16.00-$17.50/hour
Salary : $16 - $18
