Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle multiple service calls a day throughout the Cahokia, IL area, both residential and commercial sites.
- Delivers high level of customer service by addressing customers' questions and concerns and effectively communicating system specifications, performance metrics, and variances to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for being a subject-matter expert on processes associated with the installation of PV Systems and maintain a strong understanding of PV design requirements.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair residential and commercial solar PV systems and associated equipment to ensure proper operation of installed systems.
- Carry out on site testing and troubleshooting with manufacturers' technical support services to determine cause and remedy of system failure(s).
- Provide complete and thorough documentation and reports upon completion of each assigned job.
- Communicate with other company departments internally to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Maintain accurate knowledge of processes and procedures within the service department to guarantee quality service ticket completion.
- Other duties as assigned by Service Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years or older.
- No major traffic violations.
- Ability to work in inclement weather and an average of 45 hours a week
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to climb ladders, bend and kneel repeatedly throughout the day and able to work at heights
- Reliable transportation
- Must be a team player
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and 50 lbs continually
- Dependable and on time
- May be required to operate digging/trenching equipment.
- Knowledge of hand & power tools recommended.
Qualifications:
- Job related experience in solar and/or construction industry.
- Trades experience in electrical is preferred.
- Understanding of the NEC Codes that relate to Solar PV Installations
- PV installation, design, and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- OSHA certification preferred but not required.
- Roofing experience is also a plus.
