We are seeking a Solar Roof Crew Lead to join our growing team based in Waterbury, VT. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing plan sets, ensuring materials are stocked and packed for the job, and running Solar Roof installations across the state. This is a field-based position that will held responsible for on-site safety, quality, and efficiency of installers and electricians on your team. As the Crew Lead, you will also communicate job flow to your colleagues in the office and explain work scope to customers.

What you'll do as a Solar Roof Crew Lead (Responsibilities):
- Work with Solar Roofers to complete high quality projects in a safe and efficient manner
- Communicate job status and estimated completion time on a daily basis with Project Management staff and customers via phone, email, CRM, or in-person
- Provide on-site leadership for installers and electricians
- Be the on-site liaison for customer questions
- Support installations through direct, on-the-ground work; lead while working alongside your team, including interconnection work, racking and attachments, wire management, and modules on both roofs and ground mounts
- Ensure that PV systems are installed in accordance with NEC and SunCommon standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions
- Keep up-to-date on latest code and solar installation techniques, and apply new knowledge to the job
- Maintain strict compliance with SunCommon safety standards
- Support SunCommon's culture by actively contributing to a positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable team environment
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2 or more years of solar and/or construction experience; prior roofing experience preferred
- NABCEP Installation Professional certification preferred
- Relevant experience with equipment layout, pipe runs, wiring, and interconnection preferred
- Experience building teams to work collaboratively together to develop trust and accomplish tasks
- Experience inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Experience setting up monitoring for PV systems
- Experience analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
- Knowledge of electrical code and standards
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs, bend, twist, kneel, squat, balance, climb ladders and work in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel throughout the state
