Korean Interpreter/Translator

Full Job Description: SUNGDO ENG USA INC. is looking for a full-time Korean Interpreter/Translator to provide interpretation during internal/external meetings and translation support for emails and documents. This position will be located in our Suwanee office.

Position Duration: Full-Time

Position Classification: W-2 Full-Time Non-Exempt position eligible for OT & Benefits

Education: Bachelor’s degree or above required preferred

Work Experience: Minimum of One (1) year working as an interpreter or translator or Document Controller preferred

Location: Suwanee, GA

Job Duties:

• Provide communication support to the Planning team
• Participate in internal/external meetings to provide high quality consecutive/simultaneous interpretation to and from Korean and English
• Translate (Korean-English and vice versa) emails and a variety of documents including legal, proposals, development plans, contracts, etc. accurately and in a timely manner
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions
• Provide sight translation as needed to team
• Liaise between the internal teams to provide a smooth communication process
• Research technical terms to prepare for meetings requiring translation services
• Travel within the Georgia and Texas surrounding areas to support meetings

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Strong English and Korean language skills required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• One or more years’ experience as an interpreter or translator or Document Controller preferred
• High level of communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Strong understanding of American and Korean culture
• Must be able to translate/interpret in a work environment that involves a variety of technical terms and acronyms
• Ability to interpret conversations, quickly and accurately, in small and large in-person and virtual meetings to and from Korean and English
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with members from a variety of backgrounds
• Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) proficiency required
• Available to work regular business hours and work flexibly to provide support as needed

Schedule:

• 8-hour flexible hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm or 9:00 am – 6 pm)
• Ability to work evening hours due to time zones
