Compounder IV Lead

Summary:

The role of the Compounder Lead is leading the compounding department by batch making, weighing, and moving materials in totes, drums, pails and within the department. This role serves as a leadership role to the compounding team and works closely with the Compound and Fill Production Supervisor to ensure batches are being made accurately and in a timely fashion, that quality and safety measures are being followed by the team, and making sure inventory discipline is being maintained. The Compounder Lead also works closely with the Quality Department to ensure that new products and pilots are introduced and that changes made are understood by the Compounding Team.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that all batches are accurately completed based on schedule
• Ensure that all chemicals are off the floor and put into assigned bays
• Ensure that all holding tanks in compounding have been cleaned when returned to compounding from filling. This must be done in a timely manner before these are put up for storage
• Ensure that all general housekeeping has been completed based on routine cleaning schedule
• Weigh raw materials according to batch card
• Compound solutions according to batch card
• Ensure all batches are checked for final processes and everything is correct
• Clean, sanitize and set up/ break down various equipment
• Cleaning and sanitizing batch and hold tanks including all lids and exterior of equipment
• Transfer finished solutions to Fill & Pack
• Assist Fill & Pack Operators with the cleaning and sanitizing of holding tanks and hoppers
• Perform inventory cycle counts
• Record raw material usage and turn in completed batches daily
• Drive a tow motor
• General Housekeeping (making sure floor is always cleaned of garbage. Parts are picked up and properly stored where other employees can easily locate equipment.)
• Fill out and complete all paperwork as required by Quality Control Department and Management
• Assist in making daily labor assignments
• Attend and participate in production meetings as required
• Train level I through level III compounders on SOP’s and cGMP
• Lead by example and showcase positive attitude
• Other job responsibilities as assigned

Required skills / characteristics:

• Must have 3-5 years as a compounder in a manufacturing setting.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain leadership abilities
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work individually and with a team
• Be able to demonstrate basic math skills and convert pounds to kilograms
• Basic computer skills: Excel, Word
• Tow motor experience
• Redzone compliance experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to position self to kneel, stoop, bend, reach, move up to 60lbs at times.
• Moving can be continuous at times up to 40 minutes.
• Ability to roll drums on and off pallets with weight frequently between 200-600 pounds.
