The Content Developer Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for a talented Content Developer to join our team! This individual will help us take our digital and in-person training content to the next level. The ideal candidate will have solid skills with the latest authoring tools and adult learning methods. In addition to building training content and assessment, a candidate must also be adept at managing relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs) and multiple development projects across varying timelines. The Content Developer reports to the Manager of Learning and Performance Support and is a part of the larger Learning and Development Team, that serves our Dealer Sales and Operations Organization.
\n- Works together with internal stakeholders to identify and define training requirements.
- Develops and designs digital online and/or instructor-led training content that creatively achieves the learning outcomes.
- Works independently while regularly collaborating with the enablement team and other cross-functional departments.
- Run weekly webinars and in-person training.
- Ensures content developed is in line with product direction, company goals, marketing guidelines, and L&D Team strategy.
- Maintains training content updates through rapid evolution cycles.
- Maintains an awareness of current industry trends including LMS utilization strategies, course authoring tools, and best practices in virtual and in-person learning.
- Attends relevant internal meetings with stakeholders to stay current on products, platforms, compliance measures, and other value additions.
- Builds and maintains relationships with SMEs during the development, design, review, and updating phases of content development.
- Infuses content with role-based, learning levels, and workflow elements as well as interactive active learning principles.
- Creates training objectives and metrics to assess if objectives are met.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience with content development, digital marketing, instructional design, adult learning theory, learning and development, training or any combination of experience that would realize success.
- Competency with the latest digital authoring and creative tools; Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Camtasia/Snagit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere), Canva, and advanced PowerPoint skills.
- Experience and passion for designing, building, and maintaining world-class digital and in-person learning content.
- Working knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodology with the ability to translate highly complex and technical information into dynamic, inquiry-based online and in-person training content.
- Experience developing learning and development content for internal sales, account management teams, and external sales audiences.
- Experience designing animations, motion graphics, and multimedia in web courses is a plus.
- BA/BS degree in an applicable field
- Certificate in Learning, Design, and Technology or Higher Education in Learning, Design & Technology, or Instructional Design & Development preferred.
- 1-3 years of working in the solar industry.
- Experience working in large, matrixed organizations.
- SalesForce experience; running and creating reports.
- Experience developing content for workforce teaching and instruction preferred.
- Ability to adapt and respond in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer service-focused environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and agile environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, report regular status, and accurately scope and deliver on time
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and documentation skills
- Strong written and verbal English grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage & pronunciation
- Strong software and computer skills, including content development programs, Learning Management Systems experience, and MS Office applications
