Summary of Role:
The New Homes Field Manager I (FM I) role is to serve as a point of contact to SunPower stakeholders, Installation Partners (IP), building departments, and home builder-based teams, for any in-field coordination. They are required to understand all construction related to solar photovoltaic installations and new home build cycles. Relationship management with superintendents, sub-contracted crews and warehouse staff is a critical part of this role. To ensure quality, accurate, and on-time delivery of our solar installation is always met.
This position involves managing at the community and residential project (RP) levels: community kick-off and ongoing meetings with superintendents, daily route planning, high volume of production schedule updates, electrical and rooftop installation accuracy, ensure AHJ inspections of solar are occurring on time.
Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to managing medium volume of communities and residential projects, monitoring of team dashboards, communicating in real-time to office-based staff, high volume of data entries directly into salesforce, and ensuring field-based sub-contractor teams are working effectively and safely.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attend community pre-construction kickoff meetings to set expectations with builder superintendent on solar installation process and SunPower requirements. Work closely with all superintendent(s) to maintain relationships.
- Identify any elements of the community construction that may need extra attention to ensure a timely solar installation and building department inspection.
- Work directly with installation partner (IP) crew leads and their office staff to ensure installations are done on time and to SunPower specifications. Conduct quality and safety audits each week.
- Plan driving routes in advance for maximum efficiency and data collection
- Coordinate with builder operations manager on a frequent basis to streamline field visits and collect needed information, scheduling updates, and documents
- Use software tools available, in real-time, to enter data “updates” directly into salesforce or provide information in a structured manner
- Work interdepartmentally to resolve field issues and provide world-class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years experience in residential construction or related trade(s)
- Basic understanding of the installation of roof penetrations, electrical circuits, solar modules, grid-tied and microinverter applications
- Basic understanding of national electrical code, California building code, residential electrical and roofing systems
- Ability to read construction drawings and electrical line diagrams
- Excellent customer service skills in addition to solid verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to travel between job sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- NABCEP Installer certified
- OSHA 10 certification
