JOB TITLE: SAFETY MANAGER
JOB LOCATION: Spanish Fork, UT
FUNCTION: Actively collaborates with frontline management to ensure the promotion of and adherence to safe work practices. Manages safety functions and other safety personnel to drive Sunpro goals and initiatives.
REPORTING TO: Safety Director
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualizes and implements the Clyde Companies, Inc. vision and core values.
- Manages OSHA requirements and personnel for all Sunpro Locations.
- Responsible to regularly perform and document safety inspections of company facilities, production plants, and equipment. Travel to various out of State sites is required
- Effectively manages all Sunpro OSHA compliance activities and reports effectively.
- Ability to analyze safety needs of Sunpro and develop plans to address issues.
- Function as a company expert on all safety-related issues including workers compensation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Responsible for origination and development of safety and job-site training.
- Understand OSHA record keeping requirements and has ability to manage programs.
- Promote employee awareness of company policies and procedures relating to safety.
- Review and investigate all incidents and ensure steps are taken to prevent re-occurrence.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.
- Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR Part 1910) and DOT (FMCSA) regulations.
- Effective leadership and management skills to manage personnel and programs.
- Robust conflict management self-starter, proactive, and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- OSHA Authorized Trainer with credentials of OSHA 500, 510, 511
- 5-10 years of safety experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical Work Requirements - Medium: exerting up to 40 lbs of force occasionally.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating various types of equipment.
- Able to negotiate various site environments and adverse weather conditions.
- Frequent automotive travel to job sites and work locations.
