Sunshine Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Payroll/Benefits Specialist in Denver (Cherry Creek). As a Human Resources team member, you will lead payroll and benefits administration, including ownership of accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll as well as annual benefits open enrollment and escalated benefits matters.
 
Additional payroll responsibilities include:
  • Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions.
  • Prepares required tax filings and other reporting.
  • May coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider.
  • Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting.
  • Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
  • Generate, review and correct timecards and issue manual checks as necessary
  • HRIS and payroll data entry of new hires, transfers, changes and terminations
  • Calculate and process commissions, incentives, bonus and supplemental income payments
Additional benefits responsibilities include:
  • Leading and organizing all annual open enrollment processes, activities and administration, including broker relations, HR coordination, and payroll system integration.
  • Reconciling monthly benefit invoices and requesting payments.
  • Auditing benefit related gross-ups, imputed income, and deductions.
  • Reviewing new hire benefit enrollments in coordination with onboarding staff.
  • Auditing employee benefit enrollments monthly.
  • Benefit Discrimination testing as applicable.
  • Evaluating process’ and proposing automation/improvement.
  • Healthcare plan contribution uploads and maintenance
  • Evaluates benefits plan compliance and performance.
  • Assist HR leaders with Qualified Life Event Change issue.
  • Assist with any escalated leave or time-off issues.
  • Benefit plan and dependent verification coordination
  • Benefit Evidence of Insurability (EOI) for all new enrollments
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have familiarity with EDI feeds and processing.
  • Have a working knowledge of ACA 1095 health coverage form review and processing
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Benefits administration experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ADP. Additional payroll platform experience, a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically excel skills such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables.
    Sunshine Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Payroll/Benefits Specialist in Denver (Cherry Creek). The anticipated hiring range for this opportunity is expected to be between $65,000-$75,000.  Actual hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
