What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Worker position at Sunshine Home Care?

NYS Licensed clinician with 3-5 years’ experience in an Article 31 clinic or Psychiatric Emergency Room. The position requires an experienced therapist with some ability to lead in the absence of the Director.

The Article 31 clinic is located in Wappingers falls, NY and is new service to the community. The clinic provides integrated services for mental health and substance abuse to adults. This position offers opportunity for growth within the organization.

Job Expectations

  • Strong assessment skills
  • Experience with the substance abuse (CASAC preferred)
  • Experience with evidenced based practices in clinical work and the recovery processes.
  • History of Compliance with OMH regulations and agency policies.
  • Knowledge of the functions of an Article 31 clinic
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to get along with a diverse client population
  • Knowledge of community resources

Minimum Qualifications & Ideal Candidates

  • Masters in Social Work or a related field; Must be Licensed in NYS. LCSW / LMSW/ LPC/CASAC.
  • Direct work experience not required, but preferred
  • Must have skills necessary to engage and work with others from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain a nonjudgmental attitude toward families and interact well with others to earn their trust within an environment that embraces diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, abilities, motivations, and backgrounds.
  • Maintain required licenses and certifications to perform role.
  • Assure timely and accurate documentation of the services provided through a supported multidisciplinary approach.

  • Be an effective problem solver who uses data, logic, and sound judgment to evaluate alternatives and recommends viable solutions with available resources while considering constraints to address the goals of treatment plans.
  • Have a collaborative spirit, effectively work on a multidisciplinary team and able to effectively manage conflict by building and maintaining constructive relationships that result in diverse work teams that will prove to serve our clients better.
  • Strong adherence to compliance standards including accurate and prompt documentation as well as persistent attention to policies, procedures, regulations and standards of the Clinic, quality programs and state & federal agencies are essential
  • Participates in daily clinical meetings & Weekly Supervision, including individuals and group supervisions, including case presentations.

Requirements of Job:

  • Maintain required licenses and certifications to perform role.
  • Assure timely and accurate documentation of the services provided
  • Attend all clinical Meetings
  • Attends Supervision Weekly with Supervisor
  • Writes Effective Person Centered Treatment Plans
  • Ability to Provide individual therapy and ability to identify frame of reference used.
  • Ability to Run Groups and/or Family Sessions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
