Job Description

SunTechPros Inc is hiring for its client in Brooklyn, NY (on-site) an Infrastructure Resilience Architect.

Job Description Justification:

The Infrastructure Resilience Architect will be required to assist with the design and deployment of firewall solutions deployed in large, complex networked environments.

The architect must be highly specialized to provide guidance at various stages of planning and implementing secure design, processes, and resilient solutions. This resource will have significant interaction with Infrastructure Management leadership, its engineering and architecture teams, operations teams, and data center teams.

Work Location: 2 Metrotech, Brooklyn, NY

Scheduled Work Hours: Normal business hours Monday-Friday 35 hours/week (not including mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours of work).

Assignment Start: 2/06/2023

Assignment End Date: 2/05/2024

Total Estimated Assignment Hours: 1820 hours

 

Note: If the consultant works more than 35 hours per week, the consultant must request overtime in the Agency's timekeeping system and the project manager must approve those hours worked above the weekly maximum.

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES Firewalls and Network – Next-Gen Firewall, Routing, and Defensive Security: design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting

TASKS:

  1. Participate in design meetings and reviews from a security and network perspective on assigned projects.

 

  1. Propose a networking security architecture to meet the business requirements and at the same time meet Best practices guidelines.

 

  1.  Collaborate with Architect teams for developing operable solutions for Citywide requirements.
  2.  Submit the Build for installing new network or firewall devices.
  3.  Follow the process for new device commissioning/decommissioning.
  4.  Configure ports, configure firewalls, and apply the base templates configurations, integrate the appliances into the production network.
  5.  Develop and validate base configurations for operation use.
  6.  Create and review method-of-procedure for the change to be executed during the approved change window.
  7.  Open vendor support cases as needed and identify root causes.
  8.  Review and implement network optimizations, network resilience, and network failover testing as directed.
  9.  Develop a plan and strategy for complex network upgrades.
  10. Complete any additional tasks assigned by the manager.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

  1. Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of firewalls, network security, and networking.
  2. Must have strong experience with Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Cisco firewalls.
  3. Must understand BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols in a large environment.
  4.  Deep understanding of routing, load balancing, and networking infrastructure

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 

 

  1. Hands-on experience in Palo Alto and Cisco firewall technology.
  2.  Additional experience in the field of load balancing.
  3.  Good project management skills.
  4.  Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects.
  5. Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform).
