SunWater Spa is a unique and peaceful health and wellness oasis in Manitou Springs, CO. Nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains at the base of Pikes Peak, we are deeply connected to the healing arts, spirituality and local history. SunWater consists of two adjacent buildings: our main building houses 3 levels of cedar tubs for soaking in Manitou’s own mineral spring waters, a saline pool for aqua yoga and aquatic therapies, and a spacious yoga studio. The adjacent whimsical spa building is where guests receive a variety of massage and skin care services. At SunWater Spa we strive to provide exceptional health and wellness services for all of our valued guests and staff.
About the Opportunity
The skin care professional employee has to effectively be part of our team of therapists in providing excellent customer service, and quality, all-natural skin care. This includes being proficient in all treatment protocols, being reliable, punctual, and adaptable. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in a variety of skin care services, products, full body waxing, and exhibits excellent customer service skills. The esthetician employee is responsible for arriving with time to setup and begin and end services on time, cleaning up after each service, and leaving the service rooms clean, organized and stocked for fellow therapists. This is a part-time position which reports directly to the Spa Services Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission, protocols and procedures of the company and department
- Listen to guest needs and provide exceptional spa services to all guests
- Demonstrate adaptability regarding changes required to enhance guest experience
- Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well organized work area, to include proper use of equipment and applicable safety standards
- Project a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment
- Maintain good working relationships with management and spa team members
- Listen and follow directions regarding all policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with guests, staff, and management
- Be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week
- Attend all department and all-staff meetings and trainings
- Keep up to date certifications and insurance, pursue continuing education opportunities
Qualities, Education, Experience and Physical Requirements
- Attention to detail, organized, adaptable
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- Effective time-management, communication and listening skills
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrate integrity, honesty and reliability
- Possess a smart phone and computer, and utilize both with proficiency
- Must have reliable transportation
- Minimum of 1 years experience in the field, spa experience preferred
- Point of sales systems proficiency, MindBody preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 500 hours of esthetics training
- Current Colorado State COZ license
- Current liability insurance
- Training in and experience with facial protocols for a variety of skin types, high frequency, galvanic, dermaplaning, microderm, lash and brow tinting, lash lifts, and full body waxing services
- Ability to lift, push and pull required (usually about 30lbs)
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, bend and walk up and down stairs throughout a shift
- Cleaning sweeping and mopping motions
- Ability and willingness to follow all company, local and Federal guidelines regarding Covid-19 including face mask and social distancing requirements, vaccines and testing as required.
- Ability and willingness to follow thorough hand washing and personal hygiene requirements
- Ability and willingness to follow all disinfectant requirements for spa service areas
