What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Manager position at Super Dermatology?
Super Dermatology is a busy, fast growing practice searching for a strong, hands-on Office Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and effectively manage resouces.
Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
- Manage Accounts Receivable, track status of claims, and confirm receipt of claims
- Prepare and submit insurance claims
- Post payments and adjustments in practice management system (AdvancedMD)
- Follow up with insurance companies on denied and rejected claims
- Verify insurance benefits for patients and communicate information to patients in a friendly, easy to understand way
- Conduct quarterly chart audits to ensure coding accuracy and communicate results with providers
- Excel in customer service skills
- Contribute to the front office team by helping to answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide back-up to the front desk receptionist when needed
- Perform routine office duties
- Serve as the point person for office manager duties including: maintenance, mailing, supplies, equipment, bills, errands, shopping
- Update and maintain office policies as necessary
- Human resource duties (interviewing/hiring/training/terminating employees)
- Payroll processing & PTO tracking
- Marketing the practice including managing social media
- General Management/Facility Management duties
- Plan in-house or off-site activities, like office parties/events and holiday celebrations
Required Skills:
- Expertise in medical billing and accounting procedures
- Experience billing and credentialing with commercial insurances and Medicare
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Care Records
- Knowledge of MIPS/OSHA/HIPAA
- Teamwork, flexibility, and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
Required Experience:
- High School Diploma
- College Degree preferred but not mandatory, depending on experience
- Medical Assisting diploma and/or billing certifications
- 5 years of experience working in a medical office performing medical billing processes
Preferred:
- Dermatology experience preferred
- Certified Professional Coder certification/AAPC (or equivalent)
