Job Summary:
Supermicro is seeking for multiple director-level candidate with superior knowledge, leadership, analytical, strategic, and mentorship skills to be part of our fast-growing server chassis product. This individual will drive the development and improvement of server chassis products in multiple market, including but not limited to Datacenter, storage, IoT embedded and Telecom market. Additionally, the candidate will take the lead in create aggressive go-to market plan, develop product road map, and manage manufacture/operation resource control. This position will be based at our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Job included but not limited to:
- Lead PM team and manage server chassis products through entire product lifecycle from POC to EOL
- Analyze market and business trends, develop tactics and programs to grow market share through strategically positioned Supermicro server products to maximize competitiveness
- Work closely with customers to define and refine the specifications of the products, work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the products meet the expectation of external clients
- Lead research and analysis of technology, customer, and competitor trends to develop platform portfolio strategy and roadmap
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to represent voice of the customer and field in planning
- Identify, prioritize, and address requirements of enterprise customers for existing and emerging use cases with evolving datacenter deployment considerations
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive NPI and go-to market roadmap execution
- Manage product development related resources from both internal and external and provide solution if issues or conflictions
- Review and manage to improve all product quality from design to manufacture, including sample validation and failure analysis
- Research and provide input for new design technology, proof of new concept or continuously improve current design
Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Mechanical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experiences; Master's degree in engineering is highly preferable
- 15 years of extensive product leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people management and influence skills preferred
- In-depth knowledge in server products its architecture, and product roadmap
- Familiar with applicable chassis manufacturing processes and cost, including hard tooling, injection molding and fabrication
- Familiar with all sub-components design and validation process, including mechanical, thermal, power and PCBA part
- Develop, install, and evaluate new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards to meet established goals and objectives
- Ability to be self-motivated towards the achievement and measurement of established goals
- Aptitude to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with both the client and internal staff members and to deal effectively with conflicts
