Superior Asphalt, Inc. has a proven reputation that has been providing high quality asphalt paving services to municipal, commercial, and residential customers for over 20 years.

We are currently seeking Asphalt Paving Forman with 1-2 years experience in that position to work out of our Springhill/Brooksville Asphalt Plant that can support our high standards and professionalism to our clients and internal team. This role will work alongside Asphalt Crews, Customers and Sub Contractors to complete a wide range of paving projects. Our company will work on every aspect of the milling and paving operation from driveways and parking lots to state highways and interstates.

The Asphalt Paving Foreman position is responsible for the daily planning, production, and safety of the asphalt paving crew. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the position is required to maintain consistent contact and teamwork with the crew to ensure efficient and accurate paving. The position reports directly to the Asphalt Paving Superintendent.

General Responsibilities:

• Prioritize, delegate, and perform all work placing safety first in all things.
• Record daily time, production, and site conditions
• Monitor the duties of the asphalt crew and asphalt crew team members.
• Utilize knowledge asphalt quality control measures.
• Continually inspect work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.
• Follow all company policies and all OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Plan work on a daily basis for next day.
• Accurate quantity ordering.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers.
• Oversee progress and efficient utilization of crew and equipment.
• Establish and maintain a working relationship with fellow managers.
• Report any required repairs.
• Maintain daily diary.
• Ensure Toolbox Talks and all other Superior Asphalt safety policies engaged.
• Ensure daily maintenance is completed and schedule appointments for any major repairs.
• Report any problems to the Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
• Manage personnel as well as schedule and monitor time worked.
• Train employees on proper operations.
• Perform general laboring duties when necessary.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of FDOT paving practices and specifications.
• Experience as an Asphalt Foreman working with 11-12 person paving crews.
• Good communication skills to work effectively and Safely.
• Valid Florida driver’s license in good standing,
• Ability to work nights, weekends, as required.
