Job Summary
The OEM server group is seeking a talented Product Engineer to be part of a growing team that manages some of the highest visibility accounts at Supermicro. The ideal PE candidate should have either relevant industry experience or are familiar with the server hardware industry, can hit the ground running from day 1, and most importantly be a team player. This individual should also be able to perform their day-to-day duties with minimal supervision and help support internal teams with product or process issues.
This position will be based in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
- Work with product managers and account teams to build proof-of-concept systems for customer qualification
- Troubleshoot system issues in production/manufacturing and assist RMA repair teams with subject matter expertise
- Manage OEM system bill-of-materials and ECO’s
- Work with internal and external lab to validate new hardware and firmware releases
- Proactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products
- Work with sales and customers to provide support, acting as the liaison between internal departments
- Bachelor degree in EE, CE or ME with minimum of 1 years hands-on engineering experiences in server products is strongly desirable, or equivalent industry experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge in server architecture and component ecosystem
- Hands on experience troubleshooting server or worked in Data Center/Computer room is preferable
- Experiences in configuring basic hardware firmware, or familiar with product development process is a plus
- Experiences in working with sales / FAE account teams in a collaborative setting for commercial customers
- Able to lift 50 lb
